Data Analyst
Write SQL, build dashboards, and ship dbt models across Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Omni, and cloud warehouses for diverse client engagements.
About CorrDyn
CorrDyn has been in business for over ten years. We’re 20+ people across five countries, embedded with client teams to build pipelines, develop reports, and deliver analytics that inform real business decisions.
Our clients span industries, and every engagement brings a different domain, a different stack, and a different set of constraints. Most of our work comes in by referral and most clients stick around for years; we don’t churn through clients or through people.
We’re tech-agnostic and solution-oriented, remote-first, and direct. We value people who communicate clearly, ask good questions, and care about getting the details right.
The Role
We’re looking for a Data Analyst who can write solid SQL, build reports that people actually use, and switch between client projects without losing the thread.
This is a consulting role. You won’t be embedded in a single company’s data team. Instead, you’ll work across multiple clients simultaneously, each with their own data stack, business context, and stakeholders. Some weeks, that means building dashboards in Tableau. Other weeks, it’s writing dbt models in Snowflake or debugging a Looker report against BigQuery. That range of exposure is what makes this role different from a typical analyst position.
You’ll start with guided work on one or two client projects and ramp toward independently owning reporting workflows for multiple clients within your first year. The role is roughly 80% hands-on analytical work and 20% project communication (client meetings, internal syncs, written updates). You won’t be expected to lead client relationships early on, but you will be expected to communicate clearly and often, both with your team and with clients.
If you want to build a broad technical skillset across cloud data tools while contributing to real projects from the start, this is a good fit.
We pay competitively within each region we hire in, scaled to skill and the value you deliver to clients rather than to a fixed title or band.
What You’ll Do
- Write, debug, and optimize SQL queries to produce accurate, production-ready reports and dashboards
- Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations in tools like Tableau, Power BI, Omni, and Looker, depending on what the client uses
- Develop and maintain data transformation models in dbt, working within client-specific cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, MotherDuck)
- Manage your work across multiple concurrent client projects, each with different tools, data, and business contexts
- Submit pull requests via GitHub for completed data model work and participate in peer code reviews
- Translate business requirements into analytical outputs, and ask the right questions when requirements are vague or incomplete
- Attend and contribute to client-facing meetings, providing updates and surfacing blockers early
- Validate your own work: check the logic, test the data, and confirm results before they go out the door
- Improve workflows over time by contributing templates, macros, documentation, and linting standards
What We’re Looking For
We hire on demonstrated capability, not on checking every box. If you can do most of what’s in the first list and some of what’s in the second, apply. We’d rather hear from you and figure out the fit together than have you self-select out.
What you’ll need:
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience querying structured data and writing transformations (1–2 years, or equivalent demonstrated work)
- Comfort working remotely using tools like Slack, Google Meet, and shared documentation platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to ask clarifying questions and turn requirements into solutions
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy
What’s a plus:
- Experience with at least one business intelligence or reporting tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Omni, or similar)
- Exposure to at least one cloud data warehouse or database (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, MotherDuck, PostgreSQL, or similar)
- Experience with dbt in a reporting or transformation context
- Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaborative development
- Exposure to Python for exploratory analysis or light automation
- Experience working in at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Prior experience in a consulting, agency, or multi-client environment
- Experience communicating directly with client stakeholders via chat or video
A Note on Leveling
We don’t use title bands. Compensation and project assignments scale with demonstrated skill and the billable level at which you operate, which is reassessed as you grow. Analysts who deliver well move up quickly without waiting for a promotion cycle.
What Success Looks Like
First 30 days: You’ve completed onboarding, written and validated SQL queries on real client projects, started learning dbt, and shown that you can communicate clearly with your team via Slack and video.
By 3 months: You’re delivering reports and dashboards for multiple clients with less supervision. You’re catching ambiguities in requirements and resolving them before they become problems. You’re submitting pull requests in GitHub and attending client meetings regularly.
By 6 months: You own ongoing reporting for at least one client. You’re working comfortably across multiple BI tools and cloud environments, improving SQL logic for performance and accuracy, and contributing to data quality practices like code linting and macro development.
By 12 months: You’re operating at a higher billable level, contributing reliably across three or more client projects, balancing different BI platforms, datasets, and stakeholders. You’re advising on reporting strategy, reviewing peers’ work, and helping improve internal processes and standards.
What Makes Someone Successful Here
We’re a small, high-trust team. Here’s what we’ve seen separate the people who do well from those who struggle:
Before any of that: we don’t care about credentials, background, or what you look like on paper. We care whether you can do the work, whether you’re honest about what you don’t know, and whether you’re someone the team wants to work with. Everything else is noise.
Ask questions early. Silent confusion is more expensive than a clarifying question. If something is unclear, whether it’s SQL logic, a business requirement, or a client expectation, we expect you to speak up within the hour rather than guess.
Adapt quickly. Every client is different: different tools, different industries, different levels of data maturity. You need to be comfortable picking up new platforms and switching contexts without losing momentum.
Care about accuracy. Delivering a wrong number erodes client trust fast. The people who do well here build habits around validation: tested queries, double-checked logic, documented assumptions.
Communicate without being asked. We’re remote-first, which means important context can easily get lost. You surface blockers, share updates, and keep people informed because you understand that visibility builds trust.
Invest in the team. Peer review, shared templates, process improvements. The best contributors here make everyone around them more effective.
Why CorrDyn
Build breadth fast. You’ll get exposure to more tools, industries, and data problems in a year here than most analysts see in three years at a single company.
Build on MotherDuck. We’re an active MotherDuck partner with a growing practice and live client workloads. You’ll work with a data warehouse most analysts have only read about, on real production problems, with a team that knows the platform deeply.
Fully remote. We don’t have an office. Work from wherever you work best, with a team built around asynchronous communication and clear expectations.
Real work, early. You’re not shadowing for months or doing busywork. You’ll be building reports and dashboards that inform business decisions for real organizations within your first few weeks.
Grow with support. You’ll receive mentorship and structured feedback from experienced practitioners across SQL, BI, cloud data platforms, and client communication.
Be treated well. We care about your professional and personal growth. We’re building a team of people who want to be here, not a machine that burns through talent.
Working Hours
This is a full-time remote role on U.S. Central Time. We have team members across multiple regions; those outside the Americas work a CT-aligned schedule with flexibility when life requires it. Please confirm you’re able to work this schedule sustainably.
Travel is required occasionally but is minimal. Most people travel zero to two times per year for client site visits and CorrDyn offsites.
CorrDyn provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
