The Challenge
A major retailer and e-commerce company selling agricultural products across North America — serving both B2B and B2C customers — was operating on legacy systems dating back to the late 1990s. Critical business data was locked in a D3 multi-value database accessible only through a telnet interface, with many processes still dependent on paper records. The company was simultaneously undergoing a financial audit, which required reliable financial reports that the legacy systems simply couldn’t produce in a timely manner. Data was siloed across disconnected systems with no integration layer, and the lack of modern tooling meant that even basic reporting took days of manual effort.
Our Approach
CorrDyn tackled the most pressing challenge first: extracting data from the legacy D3 multi-value database. Because the system had no API and no standard export mechanisms, we developed screen-scripting automation that navigated the telnet interface to systematically extract records. With the data liberated, we designed and implemented a NetSuite ERP deployment tailored to the company’s complex B2B and B2C workflows. We built transformation processes that mapped the legacy data model — with its non-relational multi-value structure — into NetSuite’s relational schema, handling edge cases accumulated over decades of operation. To ensure accuracy, we developed automated testing that validated transformed records against the original printed reports the company had relied on for years. Throughout the migration, we produced ad-hoc financial reports that supported the ongoing audit, ensuring the business wasn’t blocked by the transition.
The Results
The ERP migration delivered a 25% reduction in operational costs by eliminating manual processes, consolidating systems, and automating workflows that had previously required paper-based coordination through systems integration. Financial reporting that once took days of manual compilation could now be generated in hours, giving leadership timely visibility into business performance.
