The Challenge
A medical billing service provider was losing ground to competitors who offered their customers better access to data and reporting. The company’s existing reporting capabilities were limited, with month-end close reports requiring approximately eight hours of manual work per customer. This process consumed a significant portion of employee capacity and left little room for the kind of proactive analysis that customers were increasingly demanding. Without a path to modernize its data infrastructure, the company risked continued customer attrition to more data-forward competitors.
Our Approach
CorrDyn built an automated data pipeline that ingested complex medical billing data from multiple sources and transformed it into clean, normalized structures suitable for analysis and reporting. We implemented data validation mechanisms at each stage of the pipeline to ensure accuracy and consistency — a critical requirement given the regulatory sensitivity of healthcare billing data.
On top of that foundation, we deployed a Tableau BI suite with two tiers of dashboards: one for the company’s internal leadership team and another designed specifically for customer-facing reporting. This gave customers direct, self-service access to their billing data for the first time. We also built an automated reporting system with scheduled email delivery and configurable threshold alerts, so that both internal stakeholders and customers could receive timely notifications when key metrics crossed defined boundaries.
The Results
The impact on operational efficiency was dramatic. Month-end close reporting went from eight hours per customer to thirty minutes for all customers combined — a reduction of well over 95%. The employee time reclaimed from manual reporting was redirected toward higher-value customer service and account management activities. The new infrastructure also unlocked analytical capabilities that had not previously been possible, including denials analysis and demographics intake insights, giving both the company and its customers actionable intelligence to improve billing outcomes and patient intake processes.
